Have Dreams, Must Work…HARD

“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work” – Colin Powell

Do you have dreams or aspirations? Would you like to see them become reality? Then prepare to work consistently.
Sometimes, the work will be hard and other times, easy but must always be consistent.

In an interview about his book, Up, Down, or Sideways: How to Succeed When Times are Good, Bad, or In Between, Mark Sanborn proposed that we should focus less on what to do when disaster strikes and more on what to do everyday. He continued that, as a thought leader and intellectual, he undertook four activities everyday regardless of whether things were going well or not. Therefore, everyday, he:
(1) created something,
(2) sold or marketed,
(3) built relationships, and
(4) thought.

Thought or thinking is particularly important because in today’s fast-paced world, we get so caught up in reacting to issues that we have little time to be proactive. Sanborn emphasized that if we worked each day towards our goals, we will make our dreams come true, and in the process, reduce the impact of crises.
